Its been 5 days since I arrived. I had a more thorough orientation on tuesday which included a tour of part of london as well as a chance to meet all the other study abroad students. I discovered that majority of my class is looking like its going to be Norwegians who live in my building. Luckily I seem to get along with them great! Although, they do switch to a different language in the middle of conversations sometimes so I get lost. I'm hoping to see more of them on a regular basis--they seem to know how to have fun and are pretty supportive of this being my first time anywhere. I dig em.

Anyway, tuesday was also a little rough. I met all the others studying abroad but by midday I was feeling really sick and dizzy again. Unfortunately I had to go take a tour in that state and end in a pub with a free beer that I didn't want. Despite my condition, I sat and talked with the Norwegians for a while which was a little relaxing. It felt nice to have some human contact with others of a similar age and in a similar situation. I came home that night and just tried to sleep as much as possible.

Yesterday was the first day I didn't have to do anything. Therefore I didn't do anything. I slept in and watched Harry Potter on my computer, face booked, took a nap for about 4 hours, and went back to bed after watching half of another Harry Potter. I know it doesn't sound too exciting, but I needed a day like that. Today I feel MUCH better and rested. Much more up for going out and doing things.

This morning I woke up around 7:30 naturally and took a shower, finished HP, and took a walk down the street to get some coffee. After the coffee I made a brief, half assed effort to find another pillow case and some eating utensils (and some Band-Aids for my blister). I didn't find anything--big surprize. But I did find my way to St Pancras station where I'll meet Jordan tomorrow. I'm glad I have that figured out, not that it was hard. Again, the public transit is amazingly convenient and efficient here. I got a little pack of some indian food when I got back to my Old Street stop and headed home. In the kitchen I ended up talking to the girl who lives next door to me. She is from Delhi, India. Really nice girl actually. We chatted for about an hour while we both made and ate lunch. She gave me lots of tips on where to find stuff, where the pound store (dollar store in US) is, where a good place to get groceries is, where good restaurants and clubs and bars are. Very helpful overall. Now I'm sitting in my room listening to some music on my computer and doing this. I actually feel up for going out tonight. There is a major party being thrown by the school, but it costs £27 which is like $42.....I don't know. I can party for NOT 40 big ones outside of the school. The norwegians are all going, but I'm sure I'll see them another time--they are in all of my classes after all.

Day 1 and 2

Alright, well day two. I've figured out the tube and the busses.
Yesterday was rough. I arrived at 5 in the morning and made my way to my apartment by 7:30 only to discover there was no bedding or toilet paper.....I had to go find a place to buy bedding and toilet paper on no sleep or food. Basically I had a melt down for a little bit, and then got my act together, got directions from the front desk and left to find the stuff I needed. The store to get bedding was closed when I got there, so I got toilet paper and then came back and curled up on my mattress with my plane pillow...I was so anxious that I had to get up and throw up a couple times throughout my restless nap. Pitiful. When I woke up, I went back to the store to get some pillows and blankets as well as some food. Then I set up my bed and ate a little bit and took another nap. I then had to go BACK out for an orientation dinner thing. Turns out there are only 3 people in my program, including myself. Interesting. Their names are Adrian and Lauren. We all went to a pub after our meeting.

Today was much better. I actually ate something. I'm pretty settled in now even though its only day two--however that does not mean that I am not still a little anxious. I got my travel card for public transit today and figured out how to use the tube. I cant believe we don't have transit like that in the US. Its SO easy to go anywhere. I went to H&M and Top Shop (so big I couldn't even see the whole store). Everyone is SO well dressed. Heres the difference, America sells ugly clothing--London doesn't. If its there, someone will buy it and that is why there are poorly dressed people in the US and everyone in London looks good. Its pretty cool, I can't wait to look good everyday.
Overall, today was pretty laid back. Went to a little orientation meeting, did a little bit of minimal shopping for food and an adapter, then came home and took a nice long nap and set up my internet. London is really similar to Seattle actually. Just much larger, more efficient, and there are old european buildings along with new buildings.
